Episode 1- Immigration FT Livia Barreira

This episode i invited Journalist and Author Livia Barreira to talk about her migration journey. Livia moved from Brazil to Portugal and from Portugal to the UK.

Livia and I have a lot in common as were both journalists, women and have experienced uprooting your entire life to a new place. I'm so grateful she agreed to share with me about that experience.

We also discussed her new book ‘Living In Sheffield; Our Journeys as Migrant Women’. The book is how we first met. I was fangirling at one of the launch events she was having in Sheffield and got the chance to meet her and some other collaborators of the book such as the artists who made the cover, Susana Viñolo, Thais Ventura the graphic designer and Daniella Sasaki, the photographer.

The book is a celebration of migrant women from the contributing writers to the artwork It's a compilation of stories that need to be heard.

Migrant Voice are an incredible organisation based in London working to support migrants throughout the U.K.
