A podcast about waiting...

The inspiration to create this podcast came to me as most of my ideas do, in the midst of a terrible time. I'm on a waiting list currently as I write this for adhd medication. I was tested in 2020 and have been waiting ever since. Once the test came back as “obvs” I was told how long the wait would be before anything could actually be done about it.

It is hard because I already felt like I was towing the line and very close to ‘not okay’.

Life goes on…

I realised I would have to do the most important year of my life without the medication or therapy that I knew could make this so much easier.

I decided that I wanted to understand my adhd as much as possible so that i could make the right changes for myself so that this all could be a little easier. I also read a book that has drastically changed the way I feel about having adhd but more about that on the adhd episode.

This podcast is what I needed. Somewhere to go when I first became aware of the long wait ahead of me.

We have so many waiting lists now. From housing to, immigration to medication to even getting diagnosed you have to wait.

That time of people's lives can be lonely, confusing, painful and in some cases traumatic. I want to build a community where people can hear for themselves that they're not alone. Despite how unfortunate it may be hearing multiple people experience the same hardships, it can also help those who had previously thought they were just unlucky. My guests will also share ways they've managed or are managing that time of their lives. Hearing other people share ways they've learnt to manage certain symptoms of adhd has genuinely helped me in so many ways and I want the same for everyone else for anything you're going through.

Each episode will discuss a different topic and i'll even throw in some facts for you.
